MINI got rid of unnecessary versions, simplifying the model rangeOctober 11, 2018
MINI has simplified its model range, getting rid of a number of modifications. So far, the changes have taken effect only in the UK, but will subsequently spread to other markets.
According to Autocar, all MINI models now have only three design options: Classic, Sport and Exclusive. The first one is basic and the simplest in terms of equipment, in the second there is a John Cooper Works kit, sport seats and a squeezed suspension, and in the third – leather trim and advanced equipment.
Additional equipment for these modifications can be added with the help of packages, the choice of which is also simplified. So, in the Comfort and Comfort Plus includes options like climate control, seat heating and parking sensors with rear view camera. Advanced multimedia with navigation can be ordered in sets with the corresponding names Navigation and Navigation Plus, and various electronic driver assistants can be ordered in the Driving Assist Pack.
Another major change was that they removed all diesel modifications from the range of hatchbacks. At the same time, all MINI still have options for exterior personalization, for example, painting the roof with a different color or stickers in the form of “racing” lanes.
From November 1, the MINI model on the “simplified” system can be ordered through the company’s website. In the UK, the first customers will receive such cars in January.
