MINI Cooper S Convertible Receives Sidewalk VersionOctober 21, 2020
The special-edition Cooper S Cabriolet, with potential sales growth, has been unveiled with new core features including an impressive premium sound system and several other features.
The Sidewalk Edition, based on the British MINI Cooper S convertible, costs $ 55,800 and is easily recognizable by its exclusive 17-inch Scissor alloy wheels and Laguna Blue paintwork. In addition, the model is available in White Silver and Midnight Black, as well as a special arrow that is woven into the convertible roof and stripes on the “Sidewalk Edition” bonnet.
Inside, the leather interior is trimmed with contrasting yellow and blue stitching with bold accents. Sidewalk branding is also featured on the side skirts and a three-spoke leather steering wheel, while the centerpiece is the powerful Harman Kardon premium audio system with 12 speakers (410W) and eight-channel digital amplifier.
The MINI Cooper S Convertible is powered by a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 192 hp. and 280 Nm of torque. Steering the front wheels with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the S Convertible can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.1 seconds.
The Sidewalk Edition is the result of a collaboration between Harman Kardon and artist Owl Eyes, and is described as “a much needed response to the drought of live music that has swept the globe since the pandemic swept across the globe,” the automaker says.
