The American computer software developer has equipped the car with augmented reality and artificial intelligence.
Microsoft has revealed the details of its new Microsoft Tactical Vehicle project. The novelty is a tactical car equipped with many sensors, on-board computers, artificial intelligence, as well as augmented and virtual reality, reports the specialized edition of Naval Sea Systems Command.
In fact, the Microsoft Tactical Vehicle is a computing computer on wheels with the integrated Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Due to this, tactical planning of operations is accelerated and its quality is increased, as a result of which different sources are responsible for the analysis of large data arrays.
The basis for the Microsoft Tactical Vehicle was the 9-seater Chevrolet Suburban of the twelfth generation. This car belongs to the class of light trucks and is equipped with eight-cylinder EcoTec3 V-engines with a volume of 5.3 or 6.3 liters, as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission. The length of the Chevrolet Suburban is 5.7 meters, width – 2 meters, height – 1.89 meters. The total weight of the car is 8300 kg. Fuel consumption per 100 km is 14.6 liters in urban mode and 10.2 liters when driving on the highway.
The presentation of the new product was held at the Dahlgren Innovation Day event, where more than 150 technical experts from the US military were present. It is worth noting that earlier Microsoft won the contract for the development of the Visual Augmentation System, the so-called HoloLens for Military, and was also able to win the contract for the development of the Pentagon JEDI for $ 10.
