Michelis: I won’t win in Hungary, but I’m not going to give upApril 22, 2019
On the last weekend of April, World Touring will arrive in Hungary for the ninth time, and the Hungaroring stands are always filled with fans – Norbert Michelis greatly contributed to the growth of the popularity of body racing in this Eastern European country. This year Hungary is represented in the leading world championship by two pilots at once – Norby at the wheel of the Hyundai i30 N TCR of the BRC team and the young Attila Tassi, who performs at the Honda Civic Type R for the Hong Kong team KCMG.
“The weekend in Morocco was very hard,” Michelis told the official website of the series. – Start from the middle of the peloton in the second and third race was not part of our plans, especially on the city road, where it is difficult to overtake. Nevertheless, we managed to score important points. I’m in a difficult situation and I’m unlikely to win in Hungary, but I’m not going to give up. ”
19-year-old compatriot Michelis Attila Tassi is still adapting to the technique of World Touring, but he knows Hungaroring like the back of his hand. Here, Tassi won both TCR International races in 2017, and expects to repeat success this year.
“This route has raised all Hungarian riders, especially my generation, because we were chasing the Hungaroring almost every week,” said Tassi. – A year ago I spoke here at the WTCR as a guest pilot and not everything went smoothly, but two years ago the weekend at TCR International was the best in my career. Victories in both races brought incredible and very good feelings. ”
