The popular German commercial vehicle of the 2019 model year received a OM 654 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Thus, this commercial vehicle will be the first to test the latest generation 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine from Mercedes, which in turn will replace the previously available OM 651 engines.
The entry level version offers 136 hp. power and 330 Nm of torque, the average version will be offered with 163 hp and 380 Nm of torque, but the most powerful performance will get 190 hp and 420 Nm of torque. In the standard vehicle, the transmission will be offered an automatic gearbox 9G-Tronic, which will be the receiver for the 7G-Tronic, which makes the Vito Tourer the first commercial vehicle Mercedes-Benz with a 9-speed gearbox. From autumn 2019, manual gearbox will be available for purchase.
New diesel models come standard with rear-wheel drive, and as an option permanent 4Matic all-wheel drive is offered.
