Mercedes told details about the new AMG GLE 63 CoupeFebruary 19, 2020
The German auto giant spoke about two versions of the car. The premiere will take place at the Geneva Motor Show.
Mercedes-Benz on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show spoke about two modifications of its powerful coupe. We are talking about the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe 4Matic + and GLE Coupe 63 S Coupe 4Matic + models. The appearance of both models turned out to be similar, they differ in some original parts. Note the Panamericana signature radiator grille, aggressive air intakes and a very powerful front bumper. Designers also changed the design of the headlights – they have increased in size and are even more consistent with the appearance of the car.
The basic modification of the AMG GLE 63 Coupe gets wheels with a diameter of 21 inches, and the model with the index S equipped with the original 22-inch wheels. Also, the German manufacturer has prepared a night package for customers, which will emphasize the aggressive appearance of the new items. This package includes tinted windows, a front splitter in black, glossy tailpipes, and other body elements with a black accent.
The main difference between the two versions is the power plant. Variant AMG GLE 63 Coupe relies on a 4.0-liter V8 engine with a return of 563 hp, and the GLE Coupe 63 S receives a more powerful 603-horsepower engine.
Both engines have a hybrid component in the form of a 21-horsepower starter generator. The power plants will work with a 9-speed automatic transmission with several driving modes and the proprietary AMG Performance 4Matic + all-wheel drive system with variable torque distribution. Such characteristics allow the basic version to gain the first 100 km / h in 4 seconds, and a more powerful modification can do it in 3.8 seconds. The German company also prepared several suspension modes for different conditions, as well as an electronically controlled rear differential to prevent slipping in corners.
