Hypercar Mercedes-AMG ONE, which uses the technology of Formula 1 cars, will receive active aerodynamic elements
The company Mercedes-AMG confirmed the rumors that the new hybrid hypercar will lose the project’s prefix in the name and will be called ONE. This is reported by the press service of the concern Daimler.
At the moment, prototypes of Mercedes-AMG ONE are being tested in the UK, where they are tested on dynamic stands, as well as on real race tracks. In addition, it became known that the hypercar will receive an active aerodynamic body kit, which at the moment is optimized in the wind tunnel. Elements will include a special multi-section spoiler that extends into two positions.
The first prototype of the novelty was presented in the autumn of 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It was equipped with a hybrid power plant based on the modified 1.6-liter V6 engine, which is used on the cars of the Mercedes factory team in Formula-1.
The internal combustion engine is paired with an electric motor on the rear axle, together with which they give out in total 680 horsepower. In the front wheels there is one additional auxiliary electrical unit. The total power of the hybrid power plant hypercar exceeded 1000 horsepower.
According to preliminary data, Mercedes-AMG One will be able to gain the first 100 km/h in about 2.5 seconds, and for acceleration to 200 km / h will take no more than six seconds. The maximum speed of the hypercar will exceed 350 km per hour.
