The company Mercedes-Benz has published in its Instagram short video, which shows the sports version of the hatchback A-Class a new generation. The car under the name A35 will be the most affordable car in the line of Mercedes-AMG and will be presented to the public at the motor show in Paris in October of this year’s goal. Then immediately go on sale in Europe. The main competitors of the car will be the Volkswagen Golf R and Audi S3. The prices for a novelty will be named later.
Judging by the video, the novelty will get an aggressive design and a big wing. It is not excluded that the video shows a hatchback with an additional aerodynamic package. Externally, the car looks like a new-generation CLS coupe.
From the standard version of the hatchback, the “charged” model will differ by a different grille, aggressive bumpers and other optics. In the cabin of the car will install sports seats and special nameplates AMG.
According to Motor1, the hatchback A35 will be equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a turbo. The power of the unit will exceed 300 hp. The motor will work together with a seven-speed automatic transmission with a double clutch. The dynamic characteristics of the machine will be called later.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class a new generation was introduced in February this year. The basic version (A200) is equipped with a new 1.4-liter petrol four-cylinder supercharged engine, developed by Daimler together with Renault. The unit, which has a system for deactivating half of the cylinders at low loads, develops 163 hp. and 250 Nm of torque.
The variant with index A250 received a two-liter four, issuing 224 hp and 350 Nm. Also, customers will be offered a lighter 1.5-liter turbodiesel (A180 d) with an improved turbine and an upgraded cooling system. Such a motor develops 116 hp and 260 Nm of torque.
