Mercedes releases EQT electric minivan teaser ahead of May 10 premiereApril 20, 2021
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an early teaser for the EQT compact electric van, which it promises to unveil on May 10.
The premiere screening of the new EQT will be broadcast online on May 10. The company also took the time to shoot a video featuring skateboarding legend Tony Hawk. The video demonstrates how good the EQT is not only as a commercial vehicle, but also as a family vehicle.
Daimler Group Chief Designer Gordon Wagener and Head of Vans Markus Breitschwerdt will also be present to showcase the main features of the electric van.
The EQT will be the electric entrance to the upcoming T-Class family. The compact van class is new to Mercedes and will be in line with the V-Class, which has gained a reputation as a comfortable family car, as well as a commercial van (called the “Vito”).
Thanks to the new layout and design of the T-Class, the developers were able to make the car functional. Sensual Purity’s unique design philosophy has brought to life an attractive family companion, the T-Class, which inspires in design, proportions and perceived value.
The T-Class is being developed in collaboration with Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi, so it will be interesting to see what platform the electric version of the EQT will be on.
Mercedes promises that this will be the first small premium van. It will become an attractive entry point into the brand’s van family.
