Mercedes published a teaser for the premium electric sedan EQSDecember 12, 2019
A couple of minutes ago, the press service of the German automaker published a teaser that depicts an electric version of the next-generation S-Class executive sedan, which will receive the EQS designation. Presentation of new items will take place in 2020.
In the appendix to the press release, which was published by a German prestigious brand a few minutes ago, the development of executive-class models from the distant 1886 is shown, and a mysterious model, which is covered with tarpaulin, is shown as its most modern car. Although they don’t tell us what kind of car this is, we are inclined to believe that we are talking about the electrical analogue of the current S-class sedan. Such a car will receive the designation EQS.
A smooth front panel is hidden under the car cover, which resembles a similar one in other electric models of the brand. We can see the contour of ordinary side mirrors sticking out of the body, while the conceptual version of the novelty had cameras mounted on tiny legs.
From insider reports, we know that the official presentation of the electric news will take place next year. Rumor has it that Mercedes management plans to introduce an electric version of its flagship sedan just a few months after the official presentation of the next-generation regular S-Class (W223 in-plant index).
Let me remind you that the concept version of the Vision EQS concept had electric motors on the front and rear axles, the total power of which will be more than 470 horsepower (760 Nm). Acceleration to 100 km / h took less than 4.5 seconds, and the maximum speed was equal to more than 200 km / h. The power reserve was “limited” to 700 kilometers.
