Mercedes plans to double Maybach salesNovember 20, 2020
Daimler, Mercedes’ parent company, says it wants to double the sales of the super luxury Maybach brand.
Twice as many Mercedes-Maybachs are expected to be sold soon, according to Reuters, although no specific deadline has been set. The Maybach is indeed special, but in Russia and many other countries such an ultra-luxurious and ultra-long S-Class is the car for the super-rich.
The desire to improve the future of Maybach, of course, did not come out of nowhere, but followed after the Maybach version of the all-new S-Class was introduced, in addition to which the manufacturer also offers the top-end GLS SUV. In addition, there is still some room for expansion in the future, including in the form of a fully electric model. Again, not surprising, because with the EQS, Mercedes will soon have an electric limousine that can serve as a great base.
The Maybach brand dates from 1909 and was acquired by Daimler-Benz in 1960. At the beginning of the century, two models appeared under this brand: the Maybach 57 and the Maybach 62. These limousines, in fact representing two lengths of the same car, did not bring Mercedes what the company hoped for. So the Germans took a different approach, and since 2014, the Maybach name appears on a modified, super-luxurious and very long version of the S-Class. Thus, instead of “Mercedes-Benz S-Class”, the top version is called “Mercedes-Maybach S-Class”, as is customary in AMG.
