Mercedes-Maybach S-Class spotted again in the Swiss AlpsSeptember 17, 2019
The world premiere of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected no earlier than the second half of 2021.
New spy photos of the new generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class prototype super-luxury sedan. The pictures were taken by spies in the Swiss Alps, but, unfortunately, the test machine still hides its external details under heavy camouflage.
The good news is that the upcoming rangefinder in the Daimler family is already wearing serial lighting, at least in the front, everything is open enough to show their final shape. It can be seen that the sedan will retain the size and general proportions of its predecessor. A slightly shorter front overhang is likely to help engineers move the engine forward and free up even more room.
At the rear, two large exhaust tips are built into the bumper, which seem to be equipped with valves and connected to the actual exhaust system of the car. Interestingly, there is also a tow hitch that probably hints that the Maybach S-Class is currently undergoing endurance tests in the Alps.
If you look closely at the doors of the test machine, you will notice strange-looking small boxes in the upper half. They hide the door handles of the model, which will be used in standard versions of the next-generation S-Class.
Speaking of the Mercedes-Benz W223 family, we expect to see the first series to debut next year. It will take another year or so until the Maybach version appears, so about two more years before the official debut of the flagship sedan from Stuttgart.
