Mercedes introduced the charged A45S in FrankfurtSeptember 10, 2019
Official information about the new product appeared on the Web in early July, but it was shown in a live model only today.
After a painstaking campaign that began last year, the new Mercedes-AMG A45 hatchback finally got the S prefix in the name. A menacing radiator grille in front with literally a dozen vertical trims and four tailpipes from the rear exhaust system suggests that this car is a step forward compared to version 35. In addition, the hatchback is equipped with an aggressive front splitter and rear spoiler, as well as 19-inch wheels .
Undoubtedly, the main update of the model is the newly developed turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 2.0-liter unit, code-named “M139,” produces 382 hp. power and 480 Nm of torque in the standard model and an impressive 416 hp and 500 Nm in S. A couple of the unit is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Matic + all-wheel drive system.
In terms of dynamics, the A45 S will reach 100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds, and will develop a maximum of 250 km / h or 270 km / h with the AMG package. Also, the car received a drift mode, which the manufacturer teased the day before. It is standard for the S model and optional for cars without the S prefix.
Prices, as expected, turned out to be unavailable to many, but those who can afford to spend a little more than others are already able to place an order for A45, which can be obtained at a price of 56,227.50 euros, or from 61,820.50 euros for A45 S.
