Mercedes headquarters in the US will work from home all yearMay 26, 2020
According to the plans of the leadership of the German automaker, most employees of the company’s headquarters in the United States will completely switch to remote work. It is reported that this mode of operation spread throughout the year.
It turns out that the headquarters of the German brand Mercedes-Benz in the United States, located near the city of Atlanta. It has been empty since mid-March, and that will not change any time soon. In fact, the automaker ordered its 875 headquarters employees to “finish the year at home.”
This directive may remain in force next year, as it should become a new norm, at least for the time being.
“Working remotely, which was the exception to the rule, will become the norm in the foreseeable future,” said Nicholas Spiks, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, in an interview with Autonews last week.
“In this mode of work, we are able to function efficiently, and this gives our employees the opportunity for a better balance between work and personal life,” added the CEO, who continued to describe the policy of working at home as a “test” for the entire company, which does not expire .
“We will see how we deal with the mass transfer of employees of our headquarters to remote work,” he commented.
Of course, this does not mean that the German automaker is abandoning its relatively recently built head office in Atlanta, especially since some company employees prefer to work in the office.
“We still need to have physical meetings from time to time in the world in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. We must also consider the fact that some people like to come to the office. ”
