The electric Mercedes Vision EQS, based on a completely new platform for electric cars, was demonstrated in Frankfurt.

The development of an all-electric Luxury Mercedes EQS class car continues. The company reports that the novelty will go on sale in 2021. These new official teasers show off Tesla Model S.’s new rival.

It is worth noting that the production model will receive a number of differences from the concept, but the overall style and smooth forms will remain the same. With a length of 5,295 mm, the unique all-electric EQS ​​platform is 24 mm longer than the elongated S-Class. Accordingly, the interior will receive clear differences from the interior of the concept, but Mercedes promises decoration that can be considered “third place” along with the house and work in which the owner will be happy to spend time.

If the technical characteristics of the new EQS will be consistent with the concept, then the electric sedan should be able to overcome up to 700 km on a single charge, and with a 20-minute charge from a source of 350 kW, you can replenish the range of 450 km in less than 20 minutes. The power plant with two engines and four-wheel drive will accelerate the luxury model to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds.

    The serial EQS will receive a version of the MBUX infotainment system, which will appear in future Mercedes. Three touch screens – a central unit supported by displays on each door card – provide control of the main systems for the driver and passenger.

This long range is achieved thanks to a 100 kW / h battery, which charges from 0 to 80% in less than 20 minutes through a 350 kW DC charger. All four wheels are driven by electric motors, the total return of which is 469 hp. power and 760 Nm of torque.

Unlike the first Mercedes-Benz electric car, the EQC model, the Vision EQS uses a completely new platform. The company claims that scalable architecture is suitable for a wide range of electric vehicles.
