In the network laid out the second video of the fully electric SUV Mercedes-Benz EQC. Prior to the official premiere of the model remained only a week.

The first short video with elektrokrossom German premium brand published the day before. In that video, the front of the novelty was imprinted. Now they showed the stern of the SUV. The model is a serial embodiment of the concept Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ, debuted two years ago. The electric car will go on sale under the name EQC.

Judging by teasers, outwardly the commodity crossover differs from the prototype. At the conveyor EQC there was a fake chrome grille in front, while its precursor had a grille with painted LEDs. The tail lights are also different. Like the prototype, they are interconnected by an LED strip, but their shape has changed.

Mercedes-Benz EQC is built on a new platform, designed specifically for electrical models of Daimler. Information on the power plant serial crossover has not yet been disclosed. The prototype is equipped with two electric motors (one on each axis) and a block of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 70 kWh. The cumulative output of the Generation EQ is 408 hp (700 Nm), claimed power reserve – about 500 km. From the place to 100 km/h the concept accelerates in less than five seconds. Most likely, the commodity EQC will have the same “stuffing”.

The public premiere of the electric lock will be held on September 4 at a special event in Stockholm. The novelty should go to the market next year. By the way, in Norway applications for EQC are accepted from the autumn of 2017. Pre-order for the model not yet submitted in this country was opened because the “green” cars in it are in high demand. In Mercedes, apparently, they are sure that EQC will go well there.

In general, the Germans do not intend to restrict themselves to an electric crossover. EQ identified in a separate brand, under which by 2022 they plan to release at least a dozen models. After the EQC, an electric hatch, probably based on the EQA concept, is likely to appear on the conveyor.

Meanwhile, one of the main competitors of Mercedes-Benz – the Audi brand – will also present a fully electric crossover in September: on the 17th in San Francisco, the serial “e-tron” will debut, this model will also enter the market in 2019. But the BMW with the “green” cross is late – the electric version of the BMW X3 should see the light only in 2020.
