Mercedes confirmed the seven-seat model based on the A-ClassMarch 16, 2018
The company Mercedes-Benz confirmed the release of a compact seven-seat model, which should enter the market in the next few years. This in an interview with the publication Automotive News said the head of the marketing department of the German brand Britta Siger.
Ziger did not specify whether the novelty would be a minivan or a crossover. She just added that the emergence of a compact seven-seat model in the line-up was dictated by the Chinese market, where demand for such cars is constantly increasing.
The novelty is planned to be built on the same front-drive modular platform MFA, which is used for the entire A-Class family.
In total on this chassis in the near future will release at least seven new models, including the successor to the B-Class, a small crossover GLB, and the replacement of CLA and GLA.
In addition, Ziger added that the family of compact models will include electric cars, also diesel modifications, which the Mercedes does not intend to refuse.
