Mercedes brought to the test the new S-ClassJanuary 3, 2020
It looks like the prototype has a serial body.
Only a few months are left before the debut of the updated S-Class, and Mercedes is not wasting time, because on the eve of the test prototype of the new product was seen on public roads. The full-size luxury sedan seen in the company of its predecessor, as well as the current generation CLS, had not only a serial body and the latest headlights, but even a panoramic sunroof.
Despite the generous amount of camouflage, changes over the current W222 are obvious. So, there are sliding door handles that give the side profile a cleaner look. The interior will also undergo changes. The dashboard will be completely different, and Mercedes will also get rid of most physical buttons and integrate their respective functions into a giant touch screen that will dominate the center console.
Mercedes promised to reveal preliminary information about the new S a little later, and the debut is scheduled for the end of 2020. It is possible that the premiere of the model will take place at the Paris Motor Show, but it is possible that the German brand will show the novelty at a special event.
According to rumors, the new S-Class will only be sold with a long wheelbase (plus an extended Maybach), and coupe and convertible options will be relegated to the background, as the two-door models are expected to be replaced by the next-generation SL and AMG GT.
