German brand Mercedes-Benz announces recall that affects more than 1.3 million cars
Not so long ago, the Associated Press, backed by the American agency NHTSA, reported that the recall campaign is due to the inappropriate functioning of a system that automatically calls emergency services in the event of an accident. So, recently the Germans learned about an accident on European territory, when this system sent an incorrect signal about where the car was located. After this event, the corporation began an investigation, which revealed that this was not an isolated case. At the same time, as the representative of the German mark noted, they are not registered in the USA.
The service campaign will affect a fairly large number of models of the German brand, including CLA, GLA, GLE, GLS, SLC, A, GT, C, E, S, CLS, SL, B, GLB, GLC and G. It is noted that under the recall campaign cars that rolled off the assembly line from 2016 to the current year fall.
The German carmaker will soon inform the owners of defective cars about the need to deliver them to one of the brand’s service centers, where specialists will update the software for free. The service promotion is expected to start in early April.
In addition, some time ago it was reported that the German company Mercedes-Benz will demonstrate the new C-Class in February this year. It should be emphasized that the C-Class is a series of compact executive cars.
