Mercedes-Benz will present the new C-Class in FebruaryFebruary 7, 2021
The German automaker is finalizing preparations for the debut of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and it looks like it will happen sooner than some had anticipated.
The all-new rivals BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 will debut later this month, presumably on February 23rd. The C-Class sedan and station wagon are expected to go on sale first, with a coupe and convertible perhaps joining them later this year or in the first half of 2022. It is not yet clear when dealers will have an SUV.
All C-Class models will share many design details that can be seen on the larger E-Class and S-Class variants. There will be more angular lighting fixtures, the new MBUX infotainment system in a portrait style, which will give the cabin a modern look along with a free-standing digital instrument cluster. The overall interior design will be similar to the company’s flagship sedan and, if anything, should be one of the nicest in its segment.
The engine lineup will be heavily overhauled, with almost every powertrain receiving mild hybrid support, except for the apparently full hybrid versions. AMG, which leads the lineup, is believed to be ditching the current-generation Twin Turbo V8 in favor of either the six-cylinder unit or the 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the new AMG 45 range, adapted for the upcoming electrified C63, so it will be very interesting to know that will power the next BMW M3 competitor.
