Mercedes-Benz will present a farewell version for the current SL-ClassFebruary 20, 2019
Changes that will occur with a sports car, in fact, not so much. The start of sales of the German news is scheduled for next year.
The current (sixth) generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has existed since 2012. Until a completely new model generation is presented (it will happen in 2021), the company decided to properly say goodbye to the current performance of the sports car. The car will be called the Mercedes-Benz SL Grand Edition.
This car version, which will be available for SL 450 and 550, will have a different appearance and a more productive suspension.
Special versions of the car will receive exclusive forged wheels Mercedes-AMG with 10 spokes, the dimension of 19 inches in front and 20 inches in the back. They will be painted in glossy black with polished edges. All over the body appear nameplates SL Grand Edition.
Inside, there will also be changes. The armchairs are trimmed with Tundra Brown Pearl leather with diamond stitching, and the inscription SL Grand Edition will flaunt on the headrests. Tundra Brown Pearl leather will also be on the steering wheel and Nappa black perforated leather in the middle.
Long production cycles for the SL class are not unusual. The previous generation R230 stood for nine years, and the fourth generation R129 lasted 12 years. Modern SL received a minor update a couple of years ago.
Mercedes doesn’t say how many copies of the Grand Edition will be released and how much they will cost. Nevertheless, we know that the novelties will not get into the dealerships of the automaker until next year.
