Mercedes-Benz showed the interior of G-Class new generationDecember 13, 2017
German premium brand unveiled the interior of the G-Class next generation.
The world premiere of the new Gelentwagen will be held in January 2018 at the Detroit motor show. The exterior of the SUV is still hidden by the Germans, while the interior of the model is already presented – it was shown in the framework of a special event held the day before in Stuttgart.
Externally, the following Mercedes-Benz G-Class has retained the recognizable design of its predecessor, this can be seen from the numerous spy photos that were published earlier. But the interior of the SUV is completely new. Inside Gelentwagen has become more spacious, the interior is made in the style of the latest S-Class and E-Class.
For top G-Class versions, there are two 12.3-inch displays each, which are “hidden” under a single glass cover: one instead of the traditional “device”, the second – the touchscreen of the multimedia system. On the central tunnel there is a touch panel for controlling the “multimedia”, between the three air ducts there are three buttons responsible for inter-axis and interwheel locks.
The choice is offered several options for finishing: leather of different varieties and colors, inserts of carbon, wood or metal. Plus 64 color options for background lighting. The list of equipment can also include: wireless charging for the smartphone, a sunroof, chairs with electrical adjustments, heating, memory and massage function.
Specifications of the new G-Class will be revealed in a month. According to preliminary data, the line of off-road engines will include a row diesel 6-cylinder 2.9-liters with a return of about 340 hp and a gasoline turbocharged engine V8 4.0, giving out 422 or 612 hp. The most powerful version of the last engine, of course, will get Mercedes-AMG G 63.
