The division of Mercedes-Benz Vans, producing small vans and minivans, introduced the anniversary version of camper Marco Polo. It is called ArtVenture and is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the line, originating from the 1984 Mercedes-Benz 209 D.
The special version is built on the basis of the usual Marco Polo, which, in turn, represents the V-Class with a lifting roof, kitchen section, sink, built-in refrigerator and sleeping places for four people. ArtVenture differs only in the aquamarine color of the corrugated roof membrane and the optional decor of the sidewalls with a matte main surface and accents of the color of sea water.
The first Marco Polo appeared in 1984. The camper, known as Bremer Transporter, was built on the basis of the Mercedes-Benz 209 D. The equipment of the compact car included a double bed under the roof, a kitchen with a gas stove and a refrigerator.
The camper drives the OM 654 2.0-liter diesel engine with various recoil options. In the Marco Polo 300 d version, the unit gives out 239 forces and 500 Nm of torque (ECO Boost mode adds another 30 Nm), and 250 d – 190 forces and 440 Nm. The drive can be front or full. Box – nine-band automatic.
