Mercedes-Benz showed new photos of the first electric SUV EQCJune 19, 2018
The company Mercedes-Benz has published photos of the prototype of the new model – the electric crossover EQC. The images show a car in camouflage, being tested in Spain in a hot climate.
The electric-rover is tested at a temperature of +50 degrees Celsius. Engineers want to test how the battery behaves under these conditions, as well as how effective the cooling system of the power plant and climate control in extreme conditions.
Before that, Mercedes tested this car in northern Sweden at a temperature of -35 degrees Celsius. Engineers checked the launch of the power plant with cold batteries, the operation of charging cables, and pre-heating and energy recovery systems.
In total, the company built about 200 EQC prototypes. In addition to Sweden and Spain, cars are also being tested in Germany, Finland, Italy, Dubai, South Africa, China and the United States.
This crossover will be the first model from the EQ range of electric vehicles. The novelty will be equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 70 kilowatt-hours, which will allow you to travel about 482 kilometers without recharging.
In the series, the EQC model is expected to be launched in 2019. Pre-orders for the car are already being accepted – the first to have the opportunity to order a car residents of Norway.
