In China, the debut of the new basic modification of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan – S 320 L – equipped with a moderately hybrid power unit based on a two-liter petrol turbo engine took place. A similar unit was the first to receive a coupe and a Mercedes-Benz E 350 cabriolet.
The power plant Mercedes-Benz S 320 L consists of a 2.0-liter engine M274 with two twin-turbocharged engine, the output of which is 299 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The EQ-Boost system complements the EQ-Boost system: a starter generator with a belt drive with a power of 14 and 150 Nm, powered by a separate 48-volt power grid, is able to boost output for a short time during overclocking, and to muffle and start the engine while driving.
Modification of the S-Class with a hybrid power plant will replace the pre-styling machine, which was equipped with a three-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. The output of the unit, coupled with a nine-ызуув automatic transmission, was 272 horsepower. The release of the S 320 L version outside the Chinese market has not yet been reported.
