Mercedes-Benz is working on a powerful version of the G-ClassMarch 21, 2019
The German brand will present an even more powerful version of the full-size G-Class. We are talking about a diesel modification of the model, which will receive the index G 400 d.
Journalists colleagues found one curious thing. In the database of the insurance company HUK24, which is located in Germany, the mention of a new diesel version of a full-size SUV Mercedes-Benz G-Class appeared. In addition, our insider friends claim that the car that received the G 400 d index will go on sale very soon.
According to the insurance company, the German SUV will be equipped with a 2.9-liter diesel engine, whose power is 330 hp.
Unfortunately, so far nothing is known about the transmission with which the new engine will be offered – it is quite possible that it will be a 9-speed automatic transmission. By the way, the same unit is under the hood of an SUV in the G 350d version, only there its power is 286 hp.
So far, there is no data on prices for the new diesel performance of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, but it is known that the car will go into mass production in April-May this year.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that journalists got the prototype of a high-performance coupe Mercedes-AMG CLA 45.
