Mercedes-Benz Introduces New Generations of GLE and GLC with Hybrid InstallationSeptember 21, 2019
The German automaker introduced the hybrid powerplant of its GLE and GLC crossovers. The average fuel consumption per 10 kilometers is 1.1 liters (11 liters per 100 kilometers). New versions also received many new options and exterior elements.
The special design of the rear of the body and the updated improved suspension create more space for using a huge battery. Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 de 4MATIC and GLC 300 e 4MATIC SUVs now use a 31.2 kWh battery. At powerful charging stations, the battery of new products can be filled from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes, and for charging up to 100% it will take about 30 minutes.
Electric vehicles are capable of driving 106 kilometers without additional recharging. The maximum speed of SUVs reaches 160 km / h. Electric motors develop power up to 320 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
The trunk of the novelty, which does not have any stairs, remains impressive, its volume is as much as 1915 liters.
Along with the debuted GLE, the latest generation of German auxiliary Mercedes systems appeared. Compared to its predecessors (and not only with them), active safety has significantly increased. And some of the features of Intelligent Drive, as an active traffic assistance system, are original not only in the SUV segment, but also in many others.
The exterior of the GLC 300 e 4MATIC SUV received a sporty design. This car is treated as off-road and sports, so the design has received massive muscular surfaces and effective details, for example, chrome-plated elements. In production versions, they are now used for the entire length from the front to the back. And the grille got a more noticeable shape.
GLC, even as standard, is now equipped with high-power LED headlights. In their design, they have become smaller in size and also flatter. The shape of the daytime running lights, which are made in the form of a torch, became even more pronounced. The light emblem characteristic of Mercedes-Benz has become even more recognizable and noticeable. As an option, the MULTIBEAM LED headlights are now available.
