Mercedes-Benz introduced a modern 750-hp version of the Silver ArrowAugust 25, 2018
Inspired by the classic sports car Mercedes-Benz W125 Rekordwagen, designers and engineers of the German concern created a modern version of the “silver arrow”. The concept Mercedes-Benz Vision EQ Silver Arrow is equipped with an electrical installation for 750 hp and a battery for 80 kW*h.
Finally, the concern Mercedes-Benz presented its long-awaited concept, a statue of which has long been an exhibit of the company in its own museum. Mercedes EQ Silver Arrow is a new sports car created in the spirit of the legendary Mercedes-Benz W125 Rekordwagen in 1937, famous for being the first in the world to set the ground speed record at 432.7 km / h, under the control of the pilot Rudolf Caracciola.
The concept is equipped with a fully electric power plant, capable of developing a maximum output of up to 750 horsepower. As a power source, a battery of 80 kW*h is used, which provides about 400 km of run in a mixed mode. As an aesthetic addition, the car is equipped with an electronic synthesizer of the sound of the Formula 1 operation or the Mercedes-AMG V8 engine.
Of course, the name reflects the very image of the car – the model really looks swift and resembles arrows. The single cockpit hints at the fact that the company is going to produce a special line of models aimed at drivers.
The length of Mercedes EQ Silver Arrow is 5.3 meters, and the width is only 1 meter. Of course, the body was made using carbon fiber, and painted in an exclusive branded silver paint Alubeam Silver.
In the design of the car also stands out front and rear optics, which is a single module on both sides. Of course, all the lighting elements are LED, and even imitation of foglocks, logo and stripes on the sides of the concept.
Separately, we want to talk about the rear spoiler, also made of carbon fiber, and is one of the elements of active aerodynamics, which can also work as an air brake. If you pay attention to the wheels, do not be surprised – they are fully functional and have 168 spokes each, and are designed for tires 255/25 R24 in front and 305/25 R26 at the rear.
Interior design is made in the classic corporate style of Mercedes. The designers defeated the engineers, and there was no talk of saving weight. The interior is replete with premium trim, with expensive leather, a steering wheel with an integrated display of the instrument panel. The same screen allows you to choose one of the driving modes – Comfort, Sport and Sport +. At the same time, there is a “virtual racing coach” function that helps improve driving skills, giving hints during the race.
Meanwhile, Mercedes decided to present a new version of the roadster, built on the basis of the Mercedes-AMG GT coupe, which will receive a redesigned design with an aerodynamic body kit.
