Mercedes-Benz has started deliveries of the premium Actros Edition 2 truckMay 5, 2021
For semitrailer drivers, the cab serves as both home and office. A double goal often means compromises, but Mercedes is trying to counter that with its premium Actros Edition 2 truck.
Mercedes announced the next generation Actros last September, including the Edition 2 model. The brand is only now starting to supply luxury trucks. The German automaker plans to build just 400 Actros Edition 2 units.
The company offers car owners about 40 additional options to choose from. The brand has provided a wide range of customization options usually reserved for Mercedes customers. The truck is covered in nappa leather on the dashboard and door handles. Used carbon fiber trim and illuminated sunroof.
Exterior touches include star-pattern side wall decals, ‘Edition 2’ logo on painted sun visor, four additional LED headlights above the windshield, stainless steel entry steps, stainless steel axle covers and more.
The logo was painted black and highlighted, and the radiator grille was adorned with elements in dark chrome. The dark theme also extends to the headlight bezels.
Mercedes offers Edition 2 in two- and three-axle variants with GigaSpace and BigSpace cabins with RHD and LHD. Standard features are included in the Comfort package, which includes a shaving mirror, LED lighting and a refrigerator. The Sight Package adds bi-xenon headlights and electric sunblinds, while the Media Package upgrades the sound system and increases the number of charging ports. Living on the road is hard, but those who do it can get a little luxury.
