The German auto giant has become the leader in the world for the fourth year in a row. And although there is one more month left by the end of the year, it will hardly be possible to clear the backlog.
In November, global sales of Mercedes-Benz amounted to 160 thousand copies. Thus, from January to the end of November 2019, 2.134 million cars with the Mercedes logo were sold in the world. This result was 1.4% higher than last year for the same period, despite the general decline in the global market. Note that almost a third of all brand sales are in China. In second place among premium brands is BMW, whose sales for 11 months of this year amounted to 1.972 units. (+ 2.4%). The company’s success is largely due to sales in the Chinese car market, where growth was 13.6%.
However, BMW has not yet been able to reach its main competitor. The third position in the ranking is occupied by another German auto giant – Audi.
In the period from January to the end of November, 1.67 million new Audi were sold in the world, which is 0.7% lower than last year.
