Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS the next generation showed new headlightsJuly 23, 2018
In the network appeared another spy video, demonstrating test prototypes of crossovers.
On the YouTube-channel walkoART, regularly posting spy videos of new products of the German brand, there were fresh commercials of a pair of new Mercedes-Benz novelties – the flagship crossover GLS and younger GLE of new generations in the process of road tests. In the video you can see the work of the new head optics.
The body of both cars is covered with camouflage film, however, GLE is only partially. This is logical, since the debut of the younger model is expected to take place before the end of this year, and the flagship GLS will be presented next year. By the way, the German manufacturer has already launched a teaser campaign for the new Mercedes-Benz GLE, demonstrating the sketches of the crossover interior, so, probably, the model will be declassified soon.
You can see that the headlights of the two cars have a different pattern, so the design of both models will not be completely identical, differing only in size. The film on the optics is practically absent, apparently, we see its serial execution.
Mercedes-Benz GLE will not prevent the upgrade, as the model is inferior in sales to the European market to its main competitor – BMW X5. The sales volume of GLE last year was 26 519, and for five months of this year the model sold 11 011 units. In the Bavarian these indicators are 34 641 and 13 779 pieces, respectively. Mercedes-Benz GL has no clear competitors, and sales in 2017 amounted to 4 537 cars and 1 555 in January-May 2018. For comparison, the sales volume of the British off-road vehicle Range Rover was 13,663 and 5,380 units, respectively.
Earlier in a spy video the new flagship sedan Mercedes-Benz S-Class showed new optics.
