Mercedes-Benz GLA shows new features to photospiesOctober 18, 2019
Mercedes promised to offer more compact cars than ever, and they are almost ready.
Last and foremost, which has not yet been disclosed, is the second generation GLA. In anticipation of the debut next year, it was supplemented with new interface features. The GLA range currently includes the A-Class sedan and hatchback, the B-Class touring, CLA-Class sedan and station wagon. With the exception of the B-Class, they all have an AMG version.
Without regard to ride height, the GLA will be a lot like the A-Class hatchback – similar engines, wheelbase and length. In the latest spy video, the crossover demonstrates the shape of fake inlets at the bottom of the bumper and more headlights. At the back you can see the graphics of bright taillights, as well as the levers of an independent rear suspension system, which some A-Class models lack.
For American buyers of the GLA 2021 model year, Mercedes-Benz is likely to offer only one or two powertrain options. In Europe, all types of power units are available for the model, including a 1.3-liter turbo engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine, a 2.0-liter diesel engine and even several interchangeable hybrids.
