Representatives of the company Mercedes-Benz shared information on the new coupe AMG GT Black Series. The official debut of the most extreme coupe has been confirmed. The car should be presented next year, and its assembly will begin at the end of 2020. In addition to it, the Mercedes lineup will be replenished with another four-door GT 4-doors Coupe with a hybrid power plant. The exact date of the debut of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series was not called – the only thing was said that the car will debut earlier than everyone thought.
Previously, the most powerful in the Mercedes lineup was the SLS AMG Black Series with a 6.2-liter engine with 631 hp. About the new AMG GT Black Series, it was said that the car received a revision of the engine and chassis, so we can expect an increase in power.
The prototypes of the coupe were several times seen on tests in the Nurburgring. According to some sources, the car has an engine with a return of 650 hp. and will become the main competitor to the Porsche 911.2 GT2 RS.
As for the hybrid GT 4-doors Coupe, it is regarded as a competitor to the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which has a power plant with a total output of 680 hp. Recall that the first time a prototype of a four-door rechargeable hybrid coupe from Mercedes was presented in 2017. Then, a motor with a total power of 850 hp was declared as a power plant.
At the moment, the most powerful Mercedes AMG GT in the performance of the GTR Pro rides around the famous Nurburgring North loop 17 seconds slower than the Porsche 911.2 GT2 RS. With the advent of new powerful coupes, Mercedes plans to turn this tide.
