Mercedes-Benz announces next-generation CLA premiereDecember 18, 2018
Mercedes-Benz will introduce the next generation CLA at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 8th. Also, the Germans published a teaser image of the novelty. The company has already said that the new product will be “the most emotional car in its class.” In addition, Mercedes-Benz confirmed that the car will be equipped with a new multimedia system User Experience (MBUX), which replaced the top-end Comand. Artificial intelligence can self-educate itself and, over time, will be able to understand even complex commands.
The novelty will be built on the MFA architecture, created specifically for cars of the compact class. Through the use of the new CLA chassis will add in size, and its interior will be more spacious. It is also assumed that the model after the generation change will retain the modification with the body Shooting Brake.
Mercedes-Benz CLA will share the engine range with the new A-Class. It will include a new 1.4-liter gasoline unit, developed jointly with Renault. The impact of gasoline and diesel engines will vary from 120 to 230 horsepower.
The top-end AMG-modification will be equipped with a modernized “turboprocess” operating together with a 48-volt system that will power a small electric motor and an electric-powered turbine. The total return units hot hatch will exceed 400 horsepower.
