The company Mercedes-Benz will present a fully electric version of Sprinter next year. A spokesman for the German brand told AutoTimesNews . According to him, sales of environmentally friendly modification of the van will also begin in 2019.
The “green” version of the car will be called eSprinter. The novelty will be equipped with a fully electric installation, developing 84 kW (115 hp) and 300 Nm of torque. The maximum speed will be limited to 80 km per hour.
The electric car will be offered with two sets of batteries: 41 and 55 kilowatt-hours. In the first case, the van will be able to travel 150 km without recharging, and in the second the power reserve is limited to 115 km. The company noted that the new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is designed exclusively for transportation within the city.
The length of the car is 5932 mm, and the size of the wheelbase is 3824 mm. The weight of the van is 3500 kg, and the payload is 1000 kg.
The standard version of the third generation Sprinter debuted in February this year. The motor line of the third Sprinter in Europe included 2.1-liter diesel engines with a capacity of 115, 145 and 165 or 180 horsepower. Top variants are offered with a three-liter six-cylinder unit that produces 193 hp and 440 Nm of torque.
