Mercedes-AMG finally announces the official specifications of its new 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which received the internal designation M 139. In its most powerful performance, this engine can boast 416 horsepower.

Yes, there was a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution FX-440 MR with 440 hp, which could offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but the production volume of this car was only 40 units exclusively for the UK.
In particular, the most powerful version of the M 139 develops 416 hp. at 6,750 rpm and 500 Nm of torque from 5,000 to 5,250 rpm. The red line is 7200 rpm. There is also the standard version of the M 139, which produces 382 hp at 6500 rpm and 480 Nm at 4750 and 5000 rpm The maximum speed for this motor is the same 7200 rpm.
M 139 weighs 160.5 kg. Each of the four cylinders has a diameter of 83 mm and a stroke of 92 mm. The engine has both direct and indirect injection through the intake manifold. The 16 valves have two upper camshafts, and the transmission is able to regulate the operation of the valve on both sides, in addition to adjusting the opening of the Camtronic valve on the exhaust side.
The M 139 engine will be available in various models in the near future. The first is the hot A45 hatchback.
