Mercedes-AMG Project One has now moved from static testing to real testing, as evidenced by the video below. For the first time, engineers have placed a modified power unit in a car.

In case you forgot, this is the road version of the 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine used in Formula 1 cars. Combined with three electric motors, the One hypercar is expected to deliver over 1,000 horsepower. The engine can rotate up to 11,000 rpm.

Previous spy videos of the car showed a rather bleak engine sound. Don’t worry, AMG says this was just an early testing phase. In today’s video, the engine sounds like a powerful hypercar – the low whine of the V-ICE and the electric whine of the auxiliary motors.

Delivery of the novelty is expected to begin next year, of course, if there are no further delays related to the coronavirus pandemic. A total of 275 copies of the model are planned for production at a price of $ 2.75 million each. All of them have already been sold.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Mercedes lost a patent dispute against Nokia. A German court ruled that Daimler is using developments in the field of mobile technologies, which were allegedly originally developed by the Finnish company Nokia Technologies.
