Mercedes-AMG is about to launch an all-electric sports carSeptember 4, 2020
Autonews portal writes about this with reference to the head of the concern Ola Kallenius.
According to the published data, due to the constantly tightening requirements for car emissions into the atmosphere, the company is forced to go for an all-electric sports car. According to the head, the presence of hybrid vehicles in the lineup is not enough.
So far, none of the officials have told details about the project, but the appearance of a sports electric car in the Mercedes-Benz model range is inevitable. The timing of the appearance of such a car is also not yet known, but experts assume that they will start talking about the premiere of an electric car by 2025.
As a reminder, Mercedes-Benz currently sells two all-electric models: EQC and EQV. Also in 2012, the all-electric sports car SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive was introduced, which was equipped with a 751-horsepower power plant. The model was produced in limited series until 2014, until the entire SLS family was removed from the assembly line.
