The sports brand Mercedes-AMG has introduced a more powerful version of the compact crossover GLA. The new 2021 model year, which received the designation GLA 45, received 382 hp. power and more aggressive appearance.
Under the hood of the high-performance crossover of the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 2021 model year is the 2.0-liter turbocharged M139 four-cylinder engine, which was previously installed on the “charged” A45 and CLA 45 sedans. In the compact crossover, the engine power is 382 horsepower (480 Nm ) As a transmission, an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox is proposed, which works with an updated all-wheel drive system. Productive crossover will go on sale in late 2020, at the moment, the company has not yet disclosed the price.
According to Mercedes representatives, the new GLA 45 can reach 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds. Maximum speed is electronically limited at around 249 km / h. To take full advantage of this performance, there is a Race-Start mode, which has a partial ignition interruption when shifting gears and automatic double shutdown when lowering the gears.
The GLA 45 also has revised suspension geometry, and an aluminum wishbone reduces unsprung weight.
Adaptive shock absorbers allow drivers to choose from three driving modes to adapt the ride to their liking. An aluminum plate is installed under the engine, which strengthens the structure in front.
For braking, the GLA 45 comes standard with 13.8-inch rotors with four-piston calipers at the front, and 13-inch discs with single-piston calipers at the rear. By ordering the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package, six-piston calipers and 14.2-inch wheels appear in front.
