The company Mercedes-AMG presented the updated crossovers from the GLC 63 line, the top representative of which bears the title of the fastest SUV “North Loop” “Nürburgring”. The public premiere of cars took place at the New York Auto Show.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 crossover and the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe cross-coupe can be distinguished from its predecessors thanks to the redesigned headlamps and rear lights, trapezoidal exhaust manifolds, and the new 21-inch wheels.
A new AMG steering wheel with Touch Control buttons and a new infotainment complex MBUX with two digital displays and voice commands and gestures appeared in the cabin.
The engine range has not changed. Standard versions of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 and GLC 63 Coupe are equipped with a four-liter twin-turbo engine, giving out 476 hp and 650 N · m of torque. Transmission – nine-speed automatic transmission. The motor allows crossovers to accelerate from the spot to the first “hundred” in four seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 250 km per hour.
The top S-version of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 is completed with a four-liter “eight” with two turbines, developing 510 liters. with. and 700 N · m of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Recall that in the autumn of 2018, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S set the record for the North Loop of the Nürburgring among serial SUVs. The car was driven by Mercedes-AMG engineer Markus Hofbauer, who, on the first attempt, was able to cover a 20.8-kilometer route in 7 minutes and 51.7 seconds. This is two seconds faster than the previous record holder Nordsleife – Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
