Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will receive a special edition for a select fewJuly 22, 2020
The new product will be available for purchase only to customers who have pre-ordered the Project One hypercar.
The situation around the conceptual hypercar Mercedes-AMG Project One, presented three years ago, is developing in an interesting way. Recently it became known that the adaptation of the car for the public roads is not going as smoothly as it would be desirable. In addition, the coronavirus pandemic has done its job, and the release of Project One is postponed until next year.
At the same time, customers who at one time pre-ordered a hypercar at a price of 2.7 million euros are starting to get nervous. To calm them down, Mercedes-AMG took an unprecedented step – the company offered all 275 customers to buy another car – Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series P One Edition for an additional fee of 50,000 euros.
The special version is distinguished by a two-tone body design with three-pointed stars in the style of the brand’s logo and black rims. Under the hood, everything will be standard for this model – a 4-liter gasoline engine developing 730 hp. power and 800 Nm of torque. From a standstill to 100 km / h, such a sports car accelerates in 3.2 seconds, and its maximum speed is 325 km / h. I wonder what the manufacturer will offer its customers next year if Project One does not get on the assembly line?
