Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 2020: new detailsApril 8, 2018
We expect a new style of design and another motor of higher power.
Photo-spy again noticed the prototype of the charged version of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 crossover of a new generation in camouflage. This time it happened on the narrow streets of the Austrian town. Photos were published in Youtube channel AutoNews Creative
The main external differences of the charged crossover GLE 63 2020 model year will be an inverted Panamericana-style radiator grille, a bumper with huge air intakes, four twin exhaust pipes, and a set of 22-inch wheel disks, under which red and black brake calipers will hide.
Through the camouflage film, the shape of the headlights and the configuration of the LED daytime running lights are seen. With the tail lights everything is a little more complicated. Their form is still not clear. Also dense camouflage hides the configuration of the rear pillars of the body and the blind rear window. Perhaps there is a radical change in design for us.
The new generation of Mercedes-Benz GLE, based on the MRA platform, will be presented before the end of this year. The world premiere of the charged version of the crossover Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will take place either in late 2019 or early 2020. The old 5.5-liter turbocharged V8 engine (in version S 585 hp) will be replaced by a 4.0-liter V8 unit also with a twin turbo. The power will be about 600 horsepower. Let’s remind, that this engine in a sedan E63 S develops 603 horsepowers.
Earlier it became known that Mercedes-AMG in the next two years will refuse to produce cars with V12 engines.
