Mercedes-AMG E-Class coupe and cabriolet will receive a new modificationDecember 12, 2017
Stuttgart brand can expand the range of “charged” cars AMG E-Class and prepare a modification of “53” for the coupe and convertible.
According to the portal Motor1, Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers said that the brand is not going to be limited to the modification of the “53” for the CLS model, and in the future the nameplates with the 53 figures try on the E-Class coupe and cabriolet. Thus, Moers confirmed previously rumored rumors that the brand is going to expand the line of AMG-models.
Despite the fact that the head of AMG did not confirm the technical characteristics of the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 and E 53 coupe and cabriolet, our colleagues with almost absolute certainty say that under the hood these cars will have a gasoline turbocharged in-line “six” of 3-liter, equipped with a “soft hybrid” and a payback in the area of 420-430 horsepower. “Soft hybrid” is a 48-volt starter-generator with a battery pack that will feed the air conditioning system and on-board electronics in traffic jams, and also help the internal combustion engine during acceleration, and on braking, it is his duty to recuperate the energy.
As for the four-door CLS coupe, the modification “53” will be the only one of its kind. According to colleagues, the current version of 63 will be abolished, and its place will take the most powerful version of the four-door AMG GT, which will be presented next year.
Earlier, we reported that the prices of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS were named.
