Mercedes-AMG began testing the GT Black SeriesNovember 29, 2018
The appearance of camouflage prototypes of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series can be expected on the Nürburgring next summer.
Mercedes-AMG – the sports division of the German car brand has already shown the “charged” GT R coupe in the PRO version. The novelty is mainly intended for the race track. The official presentation of the car was held at the motor show in Los Angeles (USA).
At the moment, it is the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO that is the most powerful performance of the German coupe. But it will not be such a long time.
A couple of minutes ago it became known that the guys from Mercedes-AMG began work on an even more “evil” modification of the Mercedes-AMG GT. Back in March of this year, an interview with Tobias Moers, who is the head of Mercedes-AMG, took place at the Geneva Motor Show. Well, most recently, the chief project engineer of the Mercedes-AMG GT confirmed that work is currently underway to create a new, more powerful version of the high-performance coupe.
He noted that prototypes are already being tested. He further mentioned that as early as next year the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is likely to go to the Nurburgring racetrack for tests. Unfortunately, Mr. Moers did not go into details about the technical “stuffing” of the car. We assume that the most powerful version of the German coupe will receive a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, whose power will be more than 630 horsepower. This is exactly the power that the GT 63 S. can boast.
The official presentation of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will be held in 2020.
