Mercedes-AMG announced the premiere of a new super-boatFebruary 9, 2019
Mercedes-AMG and shipbuilding firm Cigarette Racing will create a new joint development speedboat. The boat will be dedicated to the four-door supercar GT 4-Door Coupe. The company has published the first teaser image of the novelty and is going to present the boat on February 14 at the International Boat Show in Miami.
All the details about the boat are kept secret. Over the exterior of the boat worked Daimler chief designer Gorden Wagener. Most likely, the power of the boat will exceed 3000 horsepower. Also, the boat will receive a special “racing key”, which enhances the engine performance.
The four-door supercar AMG GT 4-Door Coupe was presented last spring. The top car version (AMG GT 63 S) was equipped with a four-liter V8 unit, developing 640 hp and 750 Nm of torque. The engine is combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Such a car is able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and its maximum speed is 315 km per hour.
Previously, Mercedes-Benz, together with Cigarette Racing, unveiled a boat called the Cigarette Racing 515 Project One, which is dedicated to the Mercedes-AMG Project One hybrid hypercar. The design of the boat, about 15.5 meters long, is made with extensive use of Kevlar and carbon. The device is able to take on board up to six passengers. Cigarette Racing 515 Project One is driven by two V8 units with four camshafts. Each of the engines develops 1350 horsepower.
