Mercedes almost completely revealed an all-new crossoverAugust 31, 2018
In the web there was another portion of teasers of the serial electric SUV Mercedes EQC.
The world premiere of the new Mercedes-Benz crossover will take place next Tuesday, September 4, at a special event in Stockholm. In the capital of Sweden, the Germans will present a serial embodiment of the Generation EQ concept, which debuted two years ago. Earlier this week, the premium brand distributed several teaser videos with a pipeline version, which was named EQC. Now there was a couple more rollers – one completely opened the front part of the crossover, the other – its interior.
Externally, the serial Mercedes-Benz EQC differs from the prototype. At commodity electric crossover in front there was a false chrome grille, while in his harbinger the “grille” was with “painted” LEDs. The rear lights also became another, like the concept, they are connected by an LED strip, but their shape was changed.
The interior was designed in the style of the latest Mercedes models: on the front panel there are two integrated screens, one of which serves as a “device”, the second is the touchscreen of the branded multimedia system MBUX. However, in the basic Mercedes displays some, most likely, this solution will be used in the “cheap” EQC configuration.
The crossover is built on a new platform, designed specifically for electrical models of the Daimler concern. Information about the power plant serial EQC has not yet been disclosed. Prototype Generation EQ is equipped with two electric motors (one on each axis) and a block of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 70 kWh. The cumulative impact of the concept is 408 hp (700 Nm), claimed power reserve – about 500 km, from the place to “hundreds” the concept accelerates in less than five seconds. Probably, the commodity EQC will have the same “stuffing”.
Recall, two weeks after the presentation of the all-terrain vehicle Mercedes will present its electric car and Audi – the premiere of the serial SUV e-tron will be held in San Francisco. However, both crossover will go on sale next year. But BMW with its electric iX3 is late – the SUV of the Bavarian brand should see the light only in 2020.
As previously reported, only the electric crossover in Mercedes is not going to be limited: EQ is allocated in a separate brand, under which by 2022 they plan to produce at least a dozen models. It is expected that after the EQC “on the conveyor will stand an electric hat, created based on the concept EQA.
