Meet the high-tech OLED display of the 2021 Cadillac EscaladeNovember 1, 2020
From the recently released video, the curved screen in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade SUV is high-tech and very useful. It consists of three separate screens.
One of the most interesting features of the updated Cadillac Escalade SUV is its high-tech digital display. As Cadillac proudly notes, the Escalade features the industry’s first curved OLED display, and has twice the pixel density of 4K TVs.
It consists of three separate screens including a 7.2 “Driver Information Center”, a 14.2 “digital instrument cluster and a 16.9” infotainment system. The latter two are remarkable only for their size, but they are also unique in that they avoid the so-called “tablet look” of two rectangular screens pushed together like Mercedes’ models.
The screens look great and all three are visible from different locations in the cabin.
They also look good in a variety of lighting conditions, even though they are free-standing screens. While they may appear a little dim in certain situations, they can still be read in sunlight.
In the Driver Information Center, you can choose from four different displays for the digital instrument cluster.
The “gauge” variant includes a large speedometer with temperature and time indicators on the left and a dynamic display on the right. The latter usually shows what is playing on the radio, but it changes as needed to display navigation information and vehicle information.
Another option is Map, and it turns the digital dashboard into a large map. The speedometer readings are at the top and other vehicle information at the bottom.
