McLaren will unveil the brand new 720S Spider convertible on December 8November 23, 2018
British manufacturer of supercars McLaren announced that the official debut of the new 720S Spider convertible will be held on December 8 this year.
The open version of the McLaren 720S will be the second model in the new business plan of the company, and the first is the Speedstail model. The 720S Spider will also be the second convertible in the McLaren lineup, making up the 570S Spider.
It is expected that the McLaren 720S Spider will have a rigid folding roof, like its younger version of the 570S. In addition, due to the design features, the convertible should be a bit heavier than the regular version. But the company promises to maximize the difference in weight thanks to the new chassis technology and carbon body elements.
Under the hood of the 720S Spider will remain the same engine – a 4-liter V8 with two turbines, developing 710 hp and paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the 720S coupe version, this powertrain allows the supercar to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 340 km / h.
