McLaren stops production of model 600LTJuly 21, 2019
The 1000th copy of the hardcore supercar McLaren 600LT Coupe rolled off the assembly line of a British brand factory in Woking, Surrey (United Kingdom).
Based on the 570S, the McLaren 600LT sports car is the third car with the so-called “long tail” (extended rear) of the British McLaren ravings and the second such model available for use on public roads after the 675LT.
The 600LT is as much as 96 kg lighter than the same 570S – the total weight is only 1,247 kg – even though it has a larger wheelbase. V8 engine power has been increased to 600 hp. The base price is about 240,000 dollars, but most of the customers, no doubt, took additional options, which rather greatly increased the final cost of the car.
One of the last 600LTs to be built is the 1000th car, which will be sold at the main McLaren office in London.
While the production of the 600LT in the coupe version comes to an end, it is still possible to order several copies of the model in the back of a convertible. This car has a comparable performance to the coupe, 2.9 seconds will be spent on acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h, and the maximum speed will be 324 km / h.
“The 600LT Coupe is another milestone in the continued development of the McLaren Longtail sub-brand, created in 2015 with the 675LT,” said David Gilbert, Europe’s managing director at McLaren Automotive.
