McLaren has officially announced the beginning of the road, resource and speed tests of its fastest Speedtail hypercar. Tests of the new model will last for a year, and only then will the serial version be released.

Hypercar McLaren Speedtail officially presented. More specifically, the company showed a real road prototype, created for long-term tests (presumably throughout the year). The first copy of the car is called Albert in honor of the prototype McLaren F1.

Despite the fact that the real sample has already been shown officially – the details about it have not been disclosed. A total of 106 copies will be released, already sold out before the official presentation. The novelty became the ideological successor to the legendary F1 model, which from 1993 to 2005 was considered the fastest production car in the world.

A modern Benz-electric hybrid plant with a total power of more than 1,000 horsepower will be used as a power unit. It will be based on a biturbo engine V8 4.0 liters, working with two electric engines. McLaren Speedtail will be built on the basis of a unique platform built around a heavy-duty monocoque carbon fiber. The total mass of the hypercar will be 1,430 kg.

At the moment, it is known that acceleration to 300 km / h will take only 12.8 seconds, which is faster than the famous Bugatti Chiron. The maximum speed of the car was 403 km per hour. Another feature will be a triple lounge with a central location of the driver’s seat.

Meanwhile, the network appeared render McLaren Speedtail in the form of a roadster. And despite the fact that earlier there was no talk about such a model – now the company does not deny the possibility of its appearance.
